Family holidays begin at an easy pace on Hard’s lakeside promenade: stroll by the water, watch the boats and enjoy a break together. Strandbad Hard is a lovely choice for summer swimming days. At Surfmax on Grüner Damm, try stand-up paddling, join a lesson or relax at the beach bar. Shady spots beneath the trees and natural surroundings invite you to wind down by the lake.

The cable-car journey from Bregenz is part of the adventure. At the top, combine lake views, the playground and the Alpine Wildlife Park. Allow time for breaks: the wildlife-park walk includes uphill and downhill sections rather than a completely level path.

Pile dwellings and Meersburg: a day across the lake

Explore reconstructed Stone and Bronze Age houses at the pile-dwelling museum in Unteruhldingen, then stroll through historic Meersburg. Allow a full day with enough travel time. Depending on the season, travel from Hard by train and bus or a suitable boat connection, making the journey part of your day out.

Watch Barbary macaques in woodland and learn about wildlife at Affenberg Salem. Depending on your itinerary, combine it with Unteruhldingen or Meersburg. With younger children, we suggest choosing two destinations rather than rushing through all three. Check opening times and connections; do not feed or touch the macaques.

SEEHAUS HARD welcomes up to four guests plus one small child in a cot. Two bedrooms and your own kitchen make it easy to keep the family’s routine. A garden, 40 m² terrace and washing machine add everyday comfort. A cot and high chair are free on request. Andrea is your personal contact before and during your stay.

How many guests can stay?

Up to four guests plus one small child in a cot. The two bedrooms have a double bed and two single beds; a cot and high chair are free on request.

How far is the lake?

The lakeshore is around five minutes away by bike or 15 minutes on foot, depending on your route and pace.

What should families with small children know?

All rooms are on one level, but there are two entrance steps. The garden has a hedge but no gate. Please supervise small children accordingly.

Are pets allowed?

No, pets are not permitted.
